Barbie Bingo...

The day after Audra's birthday (last Saturday) she became very sick. At first I thought she just had too much sugar and excitement from the night before. She couldn't eat anything all day and she vomited a couple times an hour. Then the next day she was vomiting and spiked a fever. I took her to Instacare thinking maybe she had an ear infection. She was extremely dehydrated so they started her on IV fluids and then had an ambulance transport us to Primary Children's Hospital. They kept her on an IV until Wednesday morning and while they ran tests, and it turned out she had Rotavirus which they vaccinate for now, but she just missed the cut off for it because it is a fairly new vaccination (they vaccinate at 2, 4, and 6 months of age she was about 9 months old when they started the vaccination). It actually is very common and most kids it is just like the stomach flu, but some severe cases can cause severe dehydration. It is extremely contagious and they had to keep her on "contact" which limited who came into the room (and she couldn't leave her room) and any personnel who came in the room had to wear masks, gloves, and surgical gowns. We couldn't leave the hospital until she would eat and drink without it coming back up. Finally Wednesday she started to eat and drink, but before we left the hospital they played Bingo. They handed out bingo cards to a bunch of the rooms and had us tune in to a channel to watch as "Barbie" (someone dressed as Barbie) read off the bingo cards. It was a lot of fun and afterwards they came to each room and gave the kids a toy. Audra got Ballerina Barbie (her first Barbie ever) and she is so excited to have a Barbie like her Mom.

Tinkerbell Birthday!

For Audra's birthday it was all Tinkerbell (she loves Tinkerbell the best). The tiara she is wearing her "bampa" bought for her when she was 2 months old and now she has enough hair to actually wear it.
Here she is in the middle of blowing out the candles on her Tinkerbell cake.

Here are some of the toys she got from her Nana Stevens, dress up accessories! We see a flash forward of what is to come...

Here are some of the dress up clothes Audra got from her Nana and Bampa for her birthday, and some of her dress up accessories from her Nana Stevens.

Ian's 4th Birthday!

"Cheese!" Ian loves to say cheese for the camera. We had a Mickey Mouse themed birthday party. Ian and Gavin had Mickey Mouse ears and Audra and Anya had Minnie Mouse ears.
Ian is ready to open presents!

Ian got a remote control car from us...

a fun soccer/hockey set from Nana Stevens

...and the Little Einstein's Pat Pat Rocket from Nana and Bampa! He also got a fun Little Einsteins's music player from Auntie Rochelle, Uncle Milt, Anya and Gavin, and he got really fun Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi figurines from Uncle Nicholas and Auntie Sarah (he loves Mario). Thanks to everyone for the wonderful time we had, Ian absolutely loves all of his new toys!

This is his Mickey cake!

Ian was so excited to blow out his candles he blew them out before we finished singing, luckily one of them stayed lit until the end of the song.

Here's Audra in her Minnie Mouse ears, we can't wait to take them to Disneyland this October!

Ian's 1st Day of Preschool!

We signed Ian up for Summer Preschool at the local recreation center. For school he picked out a Diego back pack. He loves it, they read stories, sing songs, have treats, show and tell, and make crafts. He gets to go two days a week for two hours. If he continues to like this preschool we are going to sign him up in the fall.

A Trip to the Zoo!

We decided to pack up the kids and go to the zoo. Ian loves the alligators so we had to see those, and Audra had fun going down the snake slide for the first time.

Pretty Pink Toes

Audra saw me painting my toes and wanted hers done too. I painted her toes and they turned out really cute. Surprisingly she sat really still and even waited for them to dry. Then she walked around the house like a princess.

I love chocolate!

I left a box of chocolate Chex on the table and I turned my back to do something. I went to check on the kids and Audra was watching a movie eating cereal.
Yumm! Audra loved the ice cream cake we had for Grandma Stevens birthday! Unfortunately her white shirt did not enjoy the chocolate stain.
